In the same home in Denver where we did the brush stroke master bath (see page before this) we also custom built cabinetry for the client's dining room and home office. Again, the design and specifications were by Jerry Knoll, a wonderful interior designer in Colorado Springs.

We custom built a cabinet for the alcoves on the left and right side of the fireplace in the dining room. They are "floating" meaning they are about 6" off the floor which allowed for accent lighting below the cabinets.

Each cabinet has 2 full width (40" wide) roll out shelves for storage of dishes and glasses.

The doors are ribbon grain mahogany with a translucent off-white wash coat that allowed the ribbon grain to come through. After the sealer was applied to the wash coat we then used a light brown glaze to sink into and subtly highlight the ribbon-like grain of the mahogany. This finish was designed to mimic the finish on the owner's dining room table.

The client who is handicapped wanted an office just like the one he had in his previous home to continue to run his business from. So, Jerry Knoll had us build cabinets to match his previous office. These are rift cut white oak cabinets stained with an espresso stain with integral brushed aluminum continuous handles. The corner desk area was set at the perfect height for him to work from his wheelchair.
