We recently had the privilege of providing a custom Shaker style cherry kitchen for some folks north of Colorado Springs. The Shaker style is a simple yet elegant theme and features solid cherry wood frame and flat panel doors (the center panels are solid cherry, not veneer) and the drawer fronts are solid cherry slabs. The countertops are granite with a stone tile backsplash.
Note the drop down counter area (picture #3 & 4). Our client does a lot of baking and wanted a lower countertop for rolling dough. The large door below rolls out for storage of 50 pound bags of flour! To the right is a diagonal super lazy susan featuring 2 large full circle 32" diameter rotating shelves mounted on ball bearing turntables (there's also another one to the left of the double oven). This provides almost double the storage space of a typical flimsy plastic square corner lazy susan mounte on a pole (you know the one with that stupid L-shaped door that never lines up right and you jamb your fingers in). Additionally because it's diagonal it gives you more counterspace across the corner.
What's the appliance to the right of the dishwasher, you ask? It's a microwave drawer!
The refrigerator is surrounded by wood panels and the cabinet above it has vertical storage for trays, cookie sheets and othe tall objects. To the right is a pantry cabinet with 5 adjustable roll out shelves.
Below and to the right of the cooktop are 4 deep pots and pans drawers. Also, note that the drawer right below the cooktop is a working drawer not just a false panel (almost all cooktops will allow a drawer below it nowadays). Very handy for utensils.
